Workshop Intercultural dialogue through the literature for children

Through its activities the project encourages the libraries to be more active in approaching and motivating community members for use of library services.
As a part of these efforts, on the 20th of April 2013 partner libraries participated in the Health Festival traditionally organised in Vinkovci and had an opportunity to be introduced with one of the good practices in the area of community outreach of libraries. The project Libraries for a new age had its stand at this Festival with books and other materials from towns of libraries participating in the project.  Project cross-border activities and new services of libraries were also presented to the visitors of the festival.

The City Library Vinkovci regularly participates in this event as a way of its community outreach and promotion outside the library. This visit to Croatia enabled the participants from Serbian libraries to acquire direct insight into the functioning of the best practice model of organising a community event in a realistic environment, methodologies and tools for improving activism of libraries.

During the Health Festival the partners organized a round table discussion about other possible community events that the libraries could organise or participate in aimed at diversifying library services and promoting the library as a place for all in the community. In total 34 librarians participated in the Health Festival, acquiring knowledge and skills for improving activism of libraries.
