Workshop Volunteerism, activism and cooperation in a local community

At the beginning of this year ( 15/01/07 ) IAN, as a lead agency, started the realisation of the regional project, in cooperation with NGOs from Serbia ( Novi Sad Humanitarian Centre ) and Croatia ( Telecentar Slavonski Brod , CRTA and Youth Peace Group Danube ). This project will provide: - assistance in access to rights and information, and removing of administrative obstacles, with special emphasis on procurement of documents for beneficiaries; - support for successful social and economic integration of beneficiaries through non-formal education.

The project is financed by European Union through the CARDS programme.

I think that the course (IT) is very good and it provided us with basic computer knowledge.

For the population to which I belong (refugees) this is a good way for the people to get education for using computers. For me personally, this is a hand offered that helped me in other aspects as well.

N.B. from Knin, Croatia, lives in refugee camp Krnjesevci near Belgrade . He contacted IAN legal advisers for assistance with regulation of issues related to his property in Croatia . He has a house in Croatia but he couldn't take off the hypothec which was the obstacle for selling the house. IAN legal adviser wrote a submission to relevant organs in Croatia with necessary documentation proving that the client paid off the loan years ago. As a result of this the hypothec was removed and the real estate is eligible for selling now. This enables the beneficiary to sell the property and regulate his accommodation status in Serbia or in some other part of Croatia (since the client wishes to return).
