About us: IAN is a local non governmental organization established in 1997, during the war on the territory of the former Yugoslavia. IAN is currently structurally organized into four departments:

Vision: IAN wants the region of South Eastern Europe to be healed from the consequences of war and political violence and to become a civil society where human rights and well being of all are respected.

Istanbul Protocol published in Serbian

Istanbul Protocol provides a set of internationally recognized, practical guidelines for establishing medical evidence that can be used in court to prove allegations of torture.

 
Persons with hearing impairment received ECDL certificates

With this project IAN created an education programme that included intensive trainings in IAN Computer school, and social skills courses, and for those interested in initiating own business, entrepreneurship courses were organised.

 
Training for psychologists and lawyers on Investigation and documentation of psychological evidence of torture

The training was a follow-up to ToU training in Istanbul Protocol, held in October 2007. It was conducted as a part of the IPIP2 project Prevention through Documentation 2006-2008 .

 
New free of charge ICT courses

In year 2009, year of great financial and economic crises, IAN and Microsoft will offer 750 free-of-charge courses to the unemployed presons. The project is a part of the Microsoft program Unlimited potentials .

 

Project for Supporting Torture Victims Launched

The "Comprehensive Rehabilitation Program for Torture Victims in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina" has been officially launched on the 1st of December 2008. The project is implemented by IAN in partnership with two organisations in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Health Centre "Sveti Nikola" Milici and General Hospital Trebinje.

In cooperation with Global Initiative on Psychiatry, a non-governmental organization based in Netherlands, IAN center on mental health and HIV/AIDS published brochures from the series "Mental health and HIV/AIDS".
