. Position on repatriation/integration
. Mental health and
. Human rights status

"STRUGGLE IN THE POST-WAR COMMUNITY" is a research project oriented towards refugee and returnee communities, aimed at screening and describing factors important for finding a durable solution for refugees and IDPs in Balkan region. The obtained data have provided a complex overview of various aspects of refugee and returnee reality, including housing issue, employment status and income, conditions and possibilities for return or integration, perception of the situation in the environment, general psychological status and mental health, violation of basic human rights, war and post-war victimisation, social distance towards other nationalities.

The research is unique for its scope and regional character. It has been realised through the initiative and cooperation of the civil sector. Partner organizations in this project were Dalmatian Solidarity Committee - DOS (Croatia), Human Rights Office Tuzla (BiH), Youth Council Miliæi (BiH) and Centre for development, tolerance and activism CRTA (Croatia).

Goal of the project has been to collect relevant data and present them to organisations and agencies who provide various type of assistance to the refugee population in the region as well as those who make strategies and decisions or give statements related to refugee issues, so that they could use this material for planning purposeful actions leading to improvement of refugee and returnee status. Also, the intention of the project is to present the phenomena accompanying forced migrations to both expert and general public.

The project was financially supported by the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the FRESTA programme.
